With a view of training of the programmatic specialists in the regions, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from June 26, 2014 of No. PP-2193 "On admission to higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2014-2015 academic year" 150 students were enrolled in the regional branches of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies in the direction of "Software Engineering" from 2014-2015 academic year. The number of students in this area has risen from year to year and it is expected to reach 600 after 3 academic years. Taking into consideration the urgent task of training specialists in the field of "Software engineering", organized on the basis of the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, which was signed on August 29, 2013, "New faculties of the University On the basis of the order of the rector of TUIT from February 19, 2015 of No. 205 "About modification and additions in the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan" June 154, the Department of "Software Engineering", specializing in the teaching and research work in the field of education, was established.

The chair of "Software Engineering" has started its activity on 2 September2015 in the faculty of "Computer Engineering" at Qarshi branch of TUIT.

In the years 2015-2016 Hidirova Charos Murodullayevna was the head of the department.

In 2016-2017, Fayazhon Karayev Fayazhon was the head of the department.

In 2017-2018 Murtazayev Sherzod Abdullaevich was the head of the department.

Starting from September, 2018 Nasirov Bakhtiyor Nusratovich is the head of the department.

The staff of the department has set the main tasks for the training of qualified specialists in modern information technology and programming, the development of teaching methodological, scientific and research work and scientific potential of the department, raising the work of the department. Currently, the department has 2 associate professors, 4 senior teachers and 9 assistant teachers.

In the current academic year the Department of "Computer Engineering" has been working in the Department of "Computer Engineering", "Computer Engineering", "Information Technologies - Service" and "Telecommunication Technologies and Vocational Education", "Information Security" Professional Education in Information and Communication Technologies ", 25 subjects in the field of education, 2 subjects in magistracy" Computer Engineering (Computer Systems Design) "and" Telecommunication Engineering (TV and Radio Broadcasting) " with a total of 16919 academic hours.

The chair carries out educational-methodical complexes, manuals, methodical instructions on the subjects taught by professors and teachers, and carries out teaching with use of new pedagogical technologies of education. Teaching staff of the chair published more than 17 methodical instructions, more than 24 educational-methodical complexes, more than 26 scientific-methodical works and articles.

Teaching staff of the department conducts the following organizational and methodological work:

- To carry out professional orientation work among graduates of secondary schools, academic lyceums and professional colleges of the region;

- Taking measures on employment of undergraduate students;

- actively participate in the scientific-methodological seminar of the department;

- methodological assistance to graduate qualification work of students;

- organization and participation in sports, cultural and educational activities, etc.

Professors and teachers of the department carry out following spiritual and educational work:

- Conducting conversations between professor-teachers and students of the Department on decisions and decrees of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, important economic and political events;

- Conducting teacher-mentor work in academic groups;

- active participation in celebrations, sports and branch improvement works;

- to make in-depth media outlets spiritual-moral and educational issues;

- Conducting conversations on spiritual, moral and educational issues in student dwellings and academic groups;

- Organization of the department day in the branch campus;

- Teaching direction and specialty students. Graduates of the department are working effectively in manufacturing and professional colleges.

Also, the department has developed electronic educational-methodical tools.
